There are 700 smallholder farmers of oil palm commodities in Pematang Kabau. Half of them were starting to cultivate Rubber plants following the transmigrant program in 1986. Currently, the share of land use for agricultural commodities in Pematang Kabau: Rice fields 10%; Rubber 20%; Oil Palm 70%.
