" National Road Number 5 stretches across 407 kilometers which connect Cambodia’s capital Phnom Peng with the border of Thailand. Along that road as well, a number of residen- tial houses were impacted (their frontages sliced open) by the Japanese and China government-funded expansion of the highway to serve a purpose of transforming existing land to roadside industrial zones while facilitating the transportation of goods between Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City.
