KIN, directed by Tim Corrigan and Esther Springett, will be screened at Electric Palace Cinema in Hastings on Sunday 22nd September.

About KIN

Growing up Mell wished her autistic brother could speak – now, in adulthood, she realises you don’t have to talk to explain what you need. KIN is a coming of age story between two sisters (Mell and Janine) and their neurodivergent and autistic brother (Carl), exploring sibling relationships, family duty and care.

Carl and Mell look at a phone together.

The event, Doc Club Special, celebrates local film making talent in Hastings and selected KIN for the programme.

We are incredibly fortunate to have a vibrant filmmaking community in and around Hastings and St. Leonards, and we are thrilled to announce our first local filmmaker showcase! This exciting event will feature seven short non-fiction projects, all directed exclusively by local talent.”

Kin was released in 2023 and was shown at the London Short Film Festival.
